The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdulla Khaleel, has emphasized the critical importance of addressing the security risks stemming from rising sea levels. Speaking at a side event of a security conference held in Germany, the Minister highlighted that the impacts of climate change pose an existential threat to the national security and economic stability of small island developing states like the Maldives. In addition to sharing the various initiatives undertaken by the Maldives to mitigate these risks, the Minister urged the international community to take decisive action and strengthen global cooperation in the fight against climate change.
