According to the latest statistics from the Ministry of Tourism, China has ascended to the top position as the primary source market for tourists visiting the Maldives. As of the 7th of this month, over 35,000 tourists have arrived from China, with Russia and Italy following in second and third place, respectively.
The total number of tourist arrivals for this year has reached 285,127, marking a 5% increase compared to the same period last year. Notably, a new daily record was established on the 1st of this month with 10,253 arrivals. The government has set an ambitious target to welcome 2.5 million tourists to the Maldives within this year.
