The Business Center Corporation (BCC) has announced that the construction of the ‘Creator Hub’ in Malé is scheduled for completion, with the official opening set for November this year.
The Creator Hub is a strategic initiative spearheaded by the BCC, aligned with the government’s vision to foster a robust creative economy in the Maldives. This project stands as a cornerstone of the developmental goals set by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, following consultations with the Cabinet of Ministers, to nurture national creative talent.
During the Presidential Address delivered at the opening of the People’s Majlis this year, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu emphasized the significance of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). He highlighted that the Creator Hub currently under construction by the BCC represents a pivotal step in the government’s efforts to develop SMEs, particularly by cultivating a vibrant creative economy.
The President further noted that the facility will provide dedicated workspaces for Maldivian artists and creators. It is envisioned as a centralized hub where all services provided by the BCC to small businesses will be integrated under one roof. The building will also house the BCC’s business consultancy services, professional workspaces, and a flagship ‘Authentic Maldives’ outlet in Malé.
“With the structural work of the 8th floor now complete, we anticipate that the entire building will be finished and inaugurated, by the grace of Allah, on November 11th this year,” stated the President.
According to the BCC, the 11-storey Creator Hub will offer state-of-the-art workspaces and essential resources designed to empower those within the creative industry. To ensure the facility meets the specific needs of local talent, the BCC has been conducting various forums to gather input and perspectives from industry professionals.
The contract for the design and construction of the Creator Hub was awarded to Fedo Private Limited in February 2024. This facility, covering an area of 1,500 square feet, is being developed at Plot Number 23 on Chaandhanee Magu.
