Club Green Streets has categorically denied allegations of match-fixing following their failure to field a team for the final Dhivehi Premier League match against New Radiant Sports Club. After the match was forfeited, resulting in a 2-0 victory for New Radiant as per regulations, Club Valencia—who faced relegation from the top flight—claimed this was a deliberate attempt to undermine their chances of staying in the division. Valencia has announced intentions to escalate the matter to AFC and FIFA.

In an official statement, Green Streets asserted that they have not engaged in any conduct contrary to the spirit of the game and urged for an end to such baseless accusations. While the Football Association of Maldives’ (FAM) Disciplinary Committee is currently reviewing the matter, Green Streets is expected to face a fine of MVR 25,000 for the forfeit.
