Playing in Thailand, the Maldivian side maintained absolute control throughout the match, securing a formidable five-goal lead by the end of the first half. The clinical goals were scored by Ali Hameed, Ali Shiyah, Captain Mohamed Imran (who netted twice), goalkeeper Zaidhan Ahmed, Ali Shamal, and Abdullah Shafiu.
Following this convincing win, the Maldives currently sits at the top of the tournament standings. Their next fixture is scheduled against Bangladesh on the 16th of this month.
