The highly competitive encounter between India and Bangladesh in the Men’s Division of the SAFF Futsal Championship has ended in a stalemate.
Played at the Nonthaburi Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, the thrilling match concluded with a 4-4 scoreline as both teams shared the points.
While both sides displayed exceptional skill throughout the game, the Bangladeshi players delivered a particularly standout performance that garnered significant attention.
The goal distribution was evenly spread, with each team netting two goals in both the first and second halves. Bangladesh drew first blood in the opening half, taking the lead through a goal by Moin Ahmed.
India, fielding a youthful squad, managed to equalize for the first time through a strike by Anmol Adhikari.
Bangladesh reclaimed the lead later in the half, courtesy of Rahbar Waheed Khan, who currently plays futsal in Canada. However, before the half-time whistle, India drew level again when a cross from Lalsanpuia took a deflection off a Bangladeshi defender and found the back of the net.
With the scores tied at 2-2 heading into the break, India took their first lead of the match early in the second half, thanks to a goal by Roluahpuia. Despite India’s renewed momentum while leading for the first time, Moin Ahmed struck again for Bangladesh to restore parity.
India managed to pull ahead once more in the second half, with Roluahpuia completing his brace. Just as India seemed poised to secure a victory, the experienced Rahbar Waheed Khan scored a late equalizer for Bangladesh, leaving the Indian side disappointed.
This result follows another draw earlier in the day between Bhutan and Sri Lanka.
