Prohibition on Using the Name of Allah on Packaging and Bags

Saudi Arabia has officially prohibited the inclusion of the names of Allah on bags and wrapping materials used for packaging. This directive, issued by the Saudi government, aims to ensure the utmost respect and sanctity for the Divine Names of Allah.

Abdulrahman Al-Hussein, the spokesperson for the Saudi Ministry of Commerce, stated that packaging materials and gift wraps are inherently disposable and often subject to improper handling or being discarded. Consequently, featuring the names of Allah on such items is deemed inappropriate. He further clarified that businesses are strictly forbidden from utilizing the names of Allah for commercial branding or packaging purposes.

Additionally, towards the end of last year, the Ministry of Commerce ceased the registration and approval of commercial trade names that incorporate any of the names of Allah.
