The foundation stone has been laid for the new Fitness and Recreation Center in Maradhoo-Feydhoo, Addu City. This project is being implemented by the Road Development Corporation (RDC) on behalf of the government. The foundation stone was laid by Minister of Cities and Administrative Areas Adam Shareef Umar, State Minister for Sports and Fitness Abdul Razzaq Ibrahim, and RDC Managing Director Ibrahim Nazeem during President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s ongoing visit to Addu City. The ceremony was also attended by the constituency’s parliament member and members of the Addu City Maradhoo-Feydhoo Council.
As part of a major government initiative to establish fitness centers in every inhabited island across the Maldives, this center in Maradhoo-Feydhoo will serve as a facility where residents of all ages can engage in various sports activities in one location. The center is designed to include a specialized indoor gym, an aerobics studio, and facilities for various indoor sports. These new fitness centers will not only strengthen social bonds among citizens but will also serve as resources that encourage the general public to maintain good health.
