The World Health Organization (WHO) has evacuated 41 of the most critically ill patients from Gaza. According to WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, 145 companions were also evacuated along with these patients.
Tedros also stated that there are still more than 15,000 patients in Gaza who need to be evacuated for medical treatment. This includes about 3,800 children.

He has called on all countries to help open all possible routes for evacuating these patients from Gaza to provide them with medical care. Since October 7, 2023, many innocent civilians in Gaza have been injured and in need of medical treatment due to the inhumane attacks by the Jewish terrorist army against the Hamas movement governing Gaza. In addition, thousands of people requiring treatment for chronic diseases such as cancer and heart conditions have been deprived of medical care.
Since the start of the war, more than 7,000 people needing medical treatment have been evacuated from Gaza, with two-thirds of them taken to Egypt.

However, in May of last year, the evacuation of patients from Gaza faced significant challenges due to the Jewish blockade and closure of the Rafah border crossing. As a result, the WHO had previously reported that more than 740 people have died in Gaza since July of last year due to a lack of treatment. According to the organization, this includes 137 children.
