President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced that the practical work of developing a futsal pitch and a handball court in Sh. Foakaidhoo will commence this year. The President made this announcement during his speech while meeting with the residents of Foakaidhoo as part of his trip to Sh Shaviyani Atoll. The President stated that in line with his pledge to establish necessary facilities for the future of the youth, the practical work of developing a futsal pitch and a handball court in the island will begin.
“Now, sports grounds grounds are being developed with lights installed for night-time play, with everything fully equipped. The practical work of a modern futsal pitch and handball court in Foakaidhoo will begin this year,” said the President. During this trip, the President has been inaugurating numerous development projects on various islands. Additionally, some unfinished projects on the islands have been assigned to certain government companies for completion.
