It has been revealed that the Senior State Counsel of the Attorney General’s Office, Fayena Fayyaz, was not arrested by the police for committing a crime. The Senior State Counsel of the Attorney General’s Office, Fayena Fayyaz, and her husband Ahmed Azhaad were arrested by the police last night during a drug operation. However, when brought to the Criminal Court for remand, she was released with conditions, while her husband was remanded for 15 days.
The police raided Fayena’s apartment based on information provided by a member of the public, alleging drug use on the premises. When the police entered, no drugs were being used in the apartment. However, during the search, hidden drugs were discovered. Consequently, everyone present in the apartment at that time was arrested and taken by the police. When Fayena was arrested, the apartment was registered under her husband’s name. When brought to court for remand, her husband had admitted during the investigation that the drugs found in the apartment were his own. Additionally, urine tests conducted after their arrest came back negative for both individuals.
