President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that lights will be installed and the quality of the football field in ADh. Fenfulhi will be improved. The President said this while speaking at a meeting with the residents of Fenfulhi during his ongoing trip to Alif Dhaal Atoll. As part of this trip, the President has inaugurated the work on establishing a running track around the football field.
The President said that by the time this project is completed, lights will be installed in the football field to allow for night-time play. He also noted that this government has already laid artificial turf on the football field. “Regarding the football field matters, I would like to say. When we are now developing fields in the islands, whether it’s for any sport, we are doing it in a way that allows for night lighting as well. In this island, we have already completed the turf work during this government. Today, we handed over the track project. By the time the track work is completed, lights will also be installed in the field, allowing it to be used at night,” the President said.
The project to construct a running track around the Fenfulhi football field has been awarded to the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC). The work was inaugurated by the Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment, Abdullah Rafiu, MTCC’s Managing Director Ahmed Saadi, and the Member of Parliament for Maamiligili constituency, Qasim Ibrahim.
