President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that a modern football field will be developed in ADh. Dhangethi. He said this during a speech while meeting with the residents of Dhangethi as part of his ongoing tour of ten islands in Alif Dhaal Atoll. The President said that one of the most important projects he intends to undertake for the island in the sports sector is the development of a modern football field. He stated that this project will be included in next year’s budget and that the field will be developed with good quality modern facilities.
“Let me mention an important decision we have made in the sports sector. That is to develop a modern, high-quality football field. There are other types of fields on this island. God willing, we will include the construction of a football field in next year’s budget and establish a top-quality football field on this island,” the President said.
Many projects to establish sports facilities are currently underway under the President’s initiative. In this regard, it is the President’s pledge to establish outdoor gyms and fitness and recreation centers on every inhabited island in the Maldives. While this project is progressing rapidly, other sports facilities such as fields and courts are also being developed through contracts with companies.
