
The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has been awarded 20 sports-related projects across 18 islands in the Maldives. The ceremony was held at the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment. At this ceremony, Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment, Abdullah Rafiu signed the agreement on behalf of the government. Ahmed Saudy, Managing Director of MTCC, signed on behalf of the company. Other participants at the ceremony included Parliament Members Asadulla Shihab (Gemanafushi constituency), Ashraf Rasheed (Fares-Maathoda constituency), Abdul Latheef Mohamed (Dhidhdhoo constituency), Ahmed Naseer (Ihavandhoo constituency), and Hassan Zareer (Mathiveri constituency).
The projects awarded to MTCC include the construction of a volleyball court and running track in ADh. Fenfushi. Additionally, volleyball courts will be developed in ADh. Hangnaameedhoo and ADh. Omadhoo. Futsal courts will be built in HA. Muraidhoo, Dhidhdhoo, and Hoarafushi, along with a volleyball court in Hoarafushi. The project also includes the construction of a futsal court in R. Maduvvari and an outdoor gym in R. Kinolhas. In In Kaafu Atoll, outdoor gyms will be established in K. Hinmafushi, Gulhi, and Thulusdhoo. The project also includes lighting work for the football ground in AA. Bodufolhudhoo.
According to the agreement, MTCC will also construct outdoor gyms in four islands of Thaa Atoll: Guraidhoo, Vilufushi, Madifushi, and Buruni. Furthermore, a volleyball court will be built in GA. Dhaandhoo, and an outdoor gym will be established in GDh. Fiyoari.
