
Victory Sports Club, a team in the Maldives’ first division, has formed a new board and elected Abdullah Shareef, the People’s Majlis member for Kelaa constituency, as its president. Victory elected a new board following the resignation of all members except for the club’s president, Hussain Adam. As Victory aims to make a strong comeback, significant changes have been made to the board, which now includes high-ranking government officials. Among them, Ibrahim Nazeem, the Managing Director of Road Development Corporation, who previously served as the club’s Chairperson and Vice Chairperson, has been elected as Vice President. Health Minister Abdullah Nazim Ibrahim and Abdullah Waheed have also been elected as Vice Presidents.
The board members include Mujtaba Latheef, Deputy Managing Director of MACL, Ibrahim Shiury, Managing Director of Visit Maldives Corporation, and Hussain Fahmy, former Managing Director of STELCO. Huzam Hussain, who works at RDC, has been appointed as the General Secretary of Victory. Mohamed Mujah Muneer is the Treasurer. Additionally, the board includes Ahmed Rd Riyaz and Ahmed Areesh, who have been serving Victory for a long time, as well as Aishath Raihana. Victory has also hired an experienced coach from Slovakia to strengthen the club. Last night, Victory Sports Club held a special ceremony to announce the new executive committee and to declare Gary’s appointment as the new coach.
