United Victory (UV) has secured their first win in the Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League by defeating TC Sports Club. UV won the match with a score of 4-1. Both teams had lost their first two matches prior to this encounter. As a result, winning this match before the league break was crucial for both teams. Particularly, UV’s coach had described this as a must-win match following their recent game against New Radiant Sports Club.
In the first half of the match played at the National Football Stadium, neither team managed to create significant attacking opportunities. However, in the final minute of this half, Ahmed Rilwan of TC capitalized on a clearance error by UV’s defense and sent the ball into the net. The second half saw a completely different UV team. Within 10 minutes of the second half, young player Hussein Suhad Suhan, making his debut in UV’s first team, changed the course of the match with a hat-trick. This was Suhad’s second match in UV’s first team.
UV equalized in the 48th minute when a ball sent by UV’s Shanaan Rashad from outside the area was deflected by TC’s keeper, and Suhad, positioned inside the area, scored from the rebound. UV took the lead in the 52nd minute when a powerful shot by Egyptian forward Mustafa Mahmoud from inside the area deflected off Suhad, who was standing near the goal line, and went into the net. Shortly after, Suhad completed his hat-trick in the 58th minute with a brilliant individual effort, dribbling past players from midfield, entering the area, and scoring. UV’s fourth goal came in the 84th minute from substitute Ishaf Mohamed Firag, who scored from a free-kick outside the area. With these three points, UV has moved up to fifth place in the league.
