
The practical work of constructing a new building to transform M. Mulaku Health Center into a hospital has begun, in line with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s pledge. This work was initiated during a ceremony held in Mulaku as part of the President’s current tour of the atolls. The work was officially commenced by Health Minister Abdullah Nazim Ibrahim. He was accompanied by Mulaku constituency member Ibrahim Naufal, Managing Director of Road Development Corporation Ibrahim Nazeem, and Mulaku Council President Ahmed Jamal.
In his address to his address to the people of Mulaku, the President highlighted that this project fulfills one of his campaign promises. He stated that this work would make it easier for the residents of the region to access health services and assured that the project would continue without interruption. The agreement for this project was signed on May 28th of this year. This is a project being carried out at a cost of 24.5 million rufiyaa. The project, which is being implemented by RDC, is scheduled to be completed by early August next year.
The government states that modernizing health services in the atolls is crucial to reduce dependence on Male’ for medical treatment. They assert that the development of health centers and additional regional hospitals represents a significant advancement for the entire health system of the Maldives.
