The projects for developing the harbor of F. Feeali in Faafu Atoll and constructing a mosque on the island have been awarded to contractors. These projects were handed over to the contractors during a meeting with the residents of Feeali as part of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s ongoing trip to Faafu Atoll. The harbor development and jetty construction project in F. Feeali has been awarded to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC). At the ceremony held to award this project, the agreement was signed by Minister Dr. Abdullah MuttaLib on behalf of the Ministry of Construction and Infrastructure, and by Ahmed Saudee, the Managing Director of MTCC, on behalf of the company.
Under this project, plans include dredging 34,674 cubic meters of area, constructing a 301-meter quay wall, installing 19 meters of revetment, placing 40 meters of groyne, building a 374-meter breakwater, constructing a 20-meter jetty, and installing harbor lights. The project has been awarded to MTCC for 60.17 million rufiyaa, to be completed within 550 days. Feeali, with a population of 1,350, primarily relies on fishing for income. The current small harbor causes difficulties in loading and unloading goods and embarking and disembarking. MTCC states that upon completion of this project, the residents will have a spacious harbor, significantly easing the processes of docking, loading, and unloading goods.

During the President’s trip, a contract for constructing a mosque in Feeali was also awarded to Afaaf Maldives Private Limited. At the ceremony held for signing this agreement, Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, the Minister of Islamic Affairs, signed on behalf of the government, while Ameen Mohamed, the Managing Director of Afaaf Maldives Private Limited, signed on behalf of the company.
The mosque planned for F. Feeali will have a capacity of 500 people. Upon completion, the mosque will be equipped with solar panels and air conditioning. The Islamic Ministry also states that the mosque will include a library and a classroom.
