Arab and Islamic countries have condemned the recent terrorist attacks by Zionists on Qatar’s capital Doha and agreed to take defensive measures. In response to the terrorist attack on Doha by Zionist forces on September 9, Arab and Islamic countries held an emergency meeting. The Maldives was represented at the meeting in Doha by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. At the meeting, Gulf countries, or Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states, decided to work together to ensure their security and safety and implement robust defensive measures. Although specific policies to implement these measures have not been formulated, the GCC has agreed to hold further extensive consultations on the matter.
Arab and Islamic countries have described the Zionist attacks on Doha as cowardly and tyrannical (evil) acts. They view it as an act of aggression against Qatar’s sovereign independence. GCC member states include Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). In response to the Zionist terrorist attacks on Doha, GCC member states have drafted an agreement to work together to address their security, safety, and defense concerns.
“My country’s capital has been subjected to an aggressive attack targeting families of Hamas [Palestinian liberation movement] leaders and Hamas representatives in peace negotiations,” said Qatar’s Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, in his address at the summit. He also called for taking strong measures to stop the inhumane crimes committed by Zionists who are thirsty for Muslim blood. The Qatari government confirms that six people were martyred in the terrorist attack by Zionists on a residential building in Doha on September 9. Others were also injured. The alliance announced that defense ministries of GCC member states will begin consultations in the coming days to take strong measures to prevent such inhumane crimes.
Qatar’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majid Mohammed Al-Ansari said that defense ministers and senior defense officials of Gulf countries will meet very soon in Doha. However, it is unclear what specific measures GCC member states will take to defend against Zionist terrorism. Sheikh Tamim also condemned the terrorist attacks by Zionists on other Muslim countries in the Middle East and the illegal crimes committed by Zionists to seize Muslim lands. He highlighted the terrorist attacks by the Zionist military on Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen. He noted that Syrian territories have been seized and that Zionist forces are active in southern Lebanon.
Additionally, GCC Secretary-General Jassim Mohammed Al-Badawi called on US President Donald Trump, the biggest supporter of the Zionist state, to control and push back the Zionist state. “We ask our partner, the United States, to use its influence to stop Israel’s actions. We hope the United States will act in this way,” he said.
