Discussions have been held regarding MTCC operating Agronet boats. Agronet boats are special vessels designed to bring additional convenience to agricultural work and to transport farmers’ products quickly and easily from one place to another. The Ministry of Agriculture and Marine Resources stated that during a meeting with MTCC, the company expressed interest in incorporating Agronet boats into their fleet of vessels to transport agricultural products.
The Ministry of Agriculture said that MTCC has already prepared schedules as part of their ferry services, and these details will be shared with the ministry. They also discussed reviewing these schedules, developing a logistics plan, and providing this information to farmers. The Ministry of Agriculture continues to work on facilitating arrangements for Maldivian farmers to sell their products.

This boat is designed in the most environmentally friendly way, using solar energy for cold storage.
The objective of this project is to establish a sustainable, profitable, reliable, and immediate transportation system for agricultural products. These boats will provide great assurance that farmers’ products can be delivered fresh and immediately to various markets across the Maldives.
