The Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA), the central bank, has awarded 15 scholarships for Master’s level studies in Islamic Finance.
The scholarships were officially handed over byd over by the Minister of Education, Dr. Ismail Shafeeu, at a special ceremony held at the MMA.
MMA stated that under this scholarship program, participants will have the opportunity to enroll in the Executive Masters in Islamic Finance course at INCEIF University in Malaysia. This program is designed to teach participants the skills and mindset needed to promote business and socio-economic development.
Out of the total 15 scholarships, 5 are fully funded scholarships, and 10 are partially funded scholarships.
The Executive Masters in Islamic Finance is a course developed by world-renowned scholars in the field of conventional and Sharia finance, targeting participants working in this sector. It is a comprehensive course that includes Islamic finance as well as leadership skills, and various areas that facilitate bringing positive changes to their institutions and society.
MMA reveals that these scholarships are part of their strategic goals to further strengthen the growing Islamic finance sector in the Maldives and to develop human resources in this field.
