Chelsea Football Club has earned 250 million pounds over the past three years by selling players from their academy. The most recent academy player sold by the club was Armando Broja to Burnley. Chelsea received 20 million pounds from his sale. Since Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital acquired Chelsea, the Premier League has instructed the team to balance its finances, citing that expenses have exceeded income. UEFA has also directed the club to address this issue.

With the sale of Armando Broja, the club has now earned 41.2 million pounds from selling academy players in the current transfer window. This includes defenders Bashir Humphreys and Ike Ugbo. Additionally, media reports suggest that forward Tino Anjorin and Trevor Chalobah are likely to be sold in the coming days. While Chelsea has earned 225.5 million pounds from player sales this season, the money from academy player sales is considered pure profit, making it easier for the team to acquire new players this season.

As the transfer window closes on the first day of September, Chelsea is working to secure Manchester United’s forward Alejandro Garnacho. Reports also indicate that the club is interested in RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons.
