Businessman and Member of Parliament for Meedhoo constituency, Ahmed Siyam Mohamed, has divorced. The marriage between 55-year-old Siyam and 23-year-old Zara took place on October 10th of last year. MDA member and MP for Velidhoo constituency, Mohamed Abbas (Velidhoo Abbas), stated in a social media post tonight that Siyam and Zara married out of love for each other. He also mentioned that the divorce was mutually agreed upon after amicable discussions between the two. The wedding, which took place last October, garnered significant public attention. The marriage between the dancer from B. Kamadhoo and Siyam became one of the biggest wedding celebrations held in the Maldives recently.
Siyam and Zara married on October 10th of last year at Siyam’s Olhuveli Resort. The dowry was set at 2,024 rufiyaa. Siyam is listed among the wealthiest individuals in the Maldives. According to the financial statement Siyam submitted to the parliament, he earns approximately 35 million dollars annually, which is equivalent to 539 million Maldivian rufiyaa. When Siyam married Zara, he was already married to a Moroccan woman. That marriage still remains intact.
