Minister of Youth Empowerment, Information and Arts, Ibrahim Waheed, has met with civil society organizations in Male’. The Youth Ministry said the meeting was held at the Youth Center (former Mulee’aage Vehicle Garage) yesterday evening. The ministry also stated that more than 100 civil society organizations participated in the meeting.
When Minister Ibrahim Waheed met with the civil society organizations in Male’, the announcement to provide financial assistance for community empowerment projects and activities run by civil society organizations was made in May of last year. The ministry said that in this phase, assistance is set to be provided for small, medium, and large-scale projects and activities.
The main purpose of providing assistance to civil society organizations is to recognize the work being done by civil society organizations to empower the community, to support and assist such work, and to expand the role of civil society organizations in national development, according to the ministry.
