Mohamed Moosa from Buruma Kuda Moosa, ADh. Maamigili, earnestly appealed to President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu for housing in the Malé area. During a meeting held by the President with the residents of Galolhu, Mohamed Moosa shed tears as he recounted his plight, stating that he has resided in Malé for 40 years.
He explained that due to his first child being born with a disability, he was compelled to sell his possessions and seek financial aid through appeals to fund medical treatment in Sri Lanka. Mohamed Moosa expressed deep regret that these trips resulted in him being unable to make payments for a plot of land he had been allocated in Hulhumalé, which consequently led to its forfeiture due to a perceived lack of cooperation from HDC. He further elaborated that he is currently facing the challenge of housing 11 individuals, including seven children and grandchildren, effectively without permanent shelter. He noted that neither he nor his children have received any form of housing in the Malé area to date. Mohamed Moosa highlighted the stark reality that despite serving the government for 16 years and being registered with the government for 40 years, he still finds himself without a place to live.
