Saudulla Hilmy, the Member of Parliament for the Thinadhoo North constituency, has urged residents to vote for People’s National Congress (PNC) candidates in the upcoming elections to restore the island’s reputation following serious allegations of corruption and negligence within the Thinadhoo City Council. This call comes after a Local Government Authority (LGA) investigation led to the suspension of both the Mayor and Deputy Mayor.

The investigation highlighted 19 serious grievances, including the unauthorized collection of fees, violations of the Public Finance Act, and the illicit transfer of funds into personal accounts. Saudulla emphasized that the most effective path toward the development of Thinadhoo is to elect capable representatives who are committed to working closely with the government.
