
Aminath Vidhaadhoo has secured the National Carrom Championship in the women’s singles category for the seventh time. Vidhaadhoo, who ranks among the top 10 in the world rankings, competed against Aishath Nahufa in the final of the women’s singles in the 34th National Carrom Tournament. Having played in the singles final of the national tournament 9 times, Vidhaadhoo is the player who has won the national tournament singles championship the most times to date.
Vidhaadhoo won the final match of the women’s division 2-1 in games. Although Nahufa won the first game 24-17, Vidhaadhoo went on to win the next two games to claim the championship. She took those two games with scores of 21-11 and 25-8.

After winning the tournament championship, Vidhaadhoo said that she had prepared very well for the tournament to defend the title for the seventh time. She also mentioned that since her opponent in the final was a very skilled player, there were moments when she felt under pressure. She also expressed that winning the singles event in the national tournament the most number of times is a great joy.
Vidhaadhoo is an experienced player with extensive experience in international tournaments, having progressed from the inter-school level all the way to national tournaments.
