The United States has provided assurances that it will join major European nations in ensuring Ukraine’s long-term safety and security following the conclusion of the ongoing conflict with Russia.

As efforts intensify to reach a peace agreement to end the war that began in 2022, leading European countries have been spearheading initiatives to provide security assistance to Ukraine. The primary objective is to establish a framework that prevents any potential future aggression from Russia once peace is established.

In a significant shift from previous diplomatic engagements, high-level U.S. representatives attended a key meeting in Paris, France. The delegation included Jared Kushner, son-in-law and special envoy to U.S. President Donald Trump, along with Steve Witkoff.

Following the meeting, during a joint press briefing with representatives from France, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Ukraine, Witkoff stated that President Trump is committed to participating in the planning of Ukraine’s security infrastructure to ensure that Russia cannot launch further attacks.

Kushner further emphasized the U.S. position, noting that Washington recognizes Ukraine’s need for ironclad guarantees to ensure that such a conflict does not recur after a peace settlement is reached.

During the discussions, the parties agreed to establish a robust monitoring mechanism to uphold the peace agreement and ensure that both sides adhere to its terms.

According to various media reports, the strategy to maintain the agreement focuses on the utilization of advanced technology, such as satellites and drones, rather than the permanent deployment of U.S. ground troops.

Significant progress toward ending the war and establishing peace was reportedly achieved during negotiations held last November.

Building on the discussions with senior U.S. officials, Ukraine has now proposed a formal framework for a potential peace agreement. However, Russia has yet to issue an official response regarding its acceptance of the proposed framework.
