
The approval rating of US President Donald Trump, or the level of trust and satisfaction the general public has in him, his administration, and his governance, has fallen to 40%. This result was revealed in a poll conducted jointly by Reuters and Ipsos. This is the lowest percentage of support for Trump, who is serving his second term, to date. Reuters and Ipsos stated that 1,023 people participated in the three-day opinion poll.
Looking at Trump’s Republican Party, 83% of people approve of his presidency and the successes he is achieving. Among the opposition Democratic Party members who participated in the poll, only 3% said they were satisfied with the progress made by Trump’s administration. And among the general public who do not support any party, one-third of people said they accept Trump’s administration.
Looking at the results of the opinion poll conducted by Reuters and Ipsos in mid-July, his approval rating was at 41%. Trump came to power with promises to revive the American economy. And with promises to stop illegal immigration to America and find a permanent solution to the issue of those who have entered illegally. However, Trump is taking steps to solve economic and immigration issues that are concerning to many members of the public.
38% of those who participated in the opinion poll said they approve of Trump’s economic reform measures. 35% of those who participated in the July poll agreed in that manner. In addition, 43% of participants in the most recent poll said they believe Trump is taking strong measures to solve immigration issues. 41% of those who participated in the previous poll were satisfied with that.
