US President Donald Trump has called for an immediate halt to the attacks being carried out under the genocide of Gaza’s Palestinian population by the Israelis. Trump’s call to stop bombing civilian areas in Gaza comes after Hamas, the governing group in Gaza, indicated that they would agree to some provisions of his peace proposal. Trump said he believes Hamas is ready for a sustainable peace in the Middle East. “Israel must immediately stop bombing Gaza, [Hamas-held] hostages can then be safely and quickly rescued,” Trump said in a post on social media.
Trump also said his proposal is not just about Gaza. “We are already discussing how to implement this [proposal]. This is not just about Gaza, it’s about establishing peace in the entire Middle East,” he wrote. Despite Trump, Israel’s biggest supporter, calling for a halt to the bombing of Gaza, the Israelis have not responded to the call. Gaza’s Civil Defense Authority said that in terrorist attacks carried out by the Israelis after Trump’s call to stop bombing, seven people were martyred and many were injured.
“It was a very violent night. Despite Trump’s call to stop bombing, [Israeli forces] launched powerful attacks on Gaza City and other areas of the city using military aircraft and tanks,” said Mahmoud Basal, spokesman for Gaza’s Civil Defense Authority. He said that in attacks by Israeli forces during the night and early morning hours, more than 20 homes were destroyed and leveled to the ground. Al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza City said it was working to treat a large number of people injured in terrorist attacks by Israeli forces on the Al-Tuffah neighborhood of the city. And that four people were martyred in those attacks. Al-Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis said that among those martyred in the Israeli attacks were two children. And that bombing of shelters in the area had injured eight more people.
With Trump’s call to stop the Israeli forces’ aggressive attacks, the office of extremist Zionist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said it had immediately begun work on implementing the first phase of Trump’s 20-point proposal in response. Zionist media reported that Israeli government leaders had instructed the Israeli army to reduce attacks under the Gaza massacre. Although the Israeli army was instructed to prepare for the first phase of Trump’s proposal, the Zionist government has not confirmed that instructions were given to reduce attacks. Hamas has indicated it will agree to some provisions of Trump’s proposal to end Israeli aggression at a time when he has given the group a deadline.
Under Trump’s proposal, all hostages held by Hamas must be released. And the bodies of deceased hostages must be handed over to the Israelis. Hamas has indicated it will agree to these provisions. In return, 1,170 Palestinians subjected to inhumane torture in Israeli prisons must be released. And 250 convicts serving life sentences for various crimes must also be freed. Trump has repeatedly stated that this is Hamas’s last chance for peace with the Israelis.
