U.S. President Donald Trump, who had been hoping to win the Nobel Peace Prize, is disappointed after not receiving the award. Although Trump claimed he was the most deserving candidate for the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize, the award was given to Maria Corina Machado of Venezuela, who is empowered by the United States and supports the extremist and oppressive ideology of the Jews. She is the leader of Venezuela’s opposition party. Machado received the Nobel Peace Prize for her efforts to eliminate authoritarianism in Venezuela. The relevant committee decided to give her the award before Trump’s initiative led to the signing of an agreement to end the Jewish-led genocide of the people of Gaza.
The Nobel Peace Prize is awarded annually to the individual who has made the most notable contribution to peace during the previous year. Therefore, this year’s award is given for work done in 2024. Trump and his supporters have issued official statements criticizing the award committee upon learning that Trump would not receive the prize. These statements accuse the committee of political bias. Trump has repeatedly hinted at his desire for the Nobel Peace Prize.
On June 20, Trump published a list on social media of his efforts and achievements in ending conflicts around the world. He stated that he was the mastermind behind stopping the exchange of attacks between India and Pakistan in May of this year. He also highlighted the establishment of the Abraham Accords during his first term, which aimed to establish relations between Jewish and Muslim countries. Jørgen Watne Frydnes, the head of the Nobel Committee, said that the committee would not explain how to win the Nobel Peace Prize and that their responsibility is to determine the recipient of the award.
