While the head of US intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, has revealed that Iran is not working to produce a nuclear weapon, President Donald Trump has denied this. Gabbard informed Congress in March that there was no evidence that Iran was working to produce a nuclear weapon. However, Trump has now contradicted Gabbard’s statement and made comments that conflict with the information she disclosed.

Trump spoke in contradiction to the information revealed by US intelligence chief Gabbard while talking to reporters on his way back to Washington after attending the Group of Seven (G7) summit of the world’s most economically advanced countries in Canada. Trump said that Iran had made significant progress in its efforts to produce a nuclear weapon.

“They [Iran producing a nuclear weapon] are very close,” Trump said. He made this statement at a time when Israeli forces are carrying out terrorist attacks on Iran. Israel began attacking Iran on June 13 under the pretext of stopping its ongoing nuclear weapons program. It is believed that Israel is attacking Iran with Trump’s approval. When a reporter pointed out that Gabbard had said in Congress in March that Iran was not working to produce a nuclear weapon, Trump said “I don’t care what she says. I believe they [Iran’s efforts to produce a nuclear weapon] have made very big advances.”

After Trump denied the information Gabbard disclosed to Congress, her office said there was no disagreement between Trump and Gabbard regarding Iran’s nuclear program. And that both of them believe the same thing. Briefing Congress in March, Gabbard said that US intelligence does not believe that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has ordered the resumption of the country’s nuclear weapons program. She also noted that the United States and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) of the United Nations conducted a comprehensive study of Iran’s nuclear program in 2003.

It is Trump who continues to allege that Iran is working to produce a nuclear weapon. And the extremist Zionist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Trump is the biggest supporter of the Jews. And Trump sees Iran’s production of a nuclear weapon as a threat to the survival of Zionist Israel and the safety of Jews.

While Trump has denied the information Gabbard disclosed to Congress about Iran’s nuclear program, unnamed US intelligence sources said that there has been no change in the information gathered by the agency. And that no new information has been received that Iran has started work on producing a nuclear weapon. In addition, sources said that the agency’s view of Iran’s nuclear program has not changed. US intelligence believes that even if Iran was working to produce a nuclear weapon, it would take another three years to complete that work.
