As the Maldives’ tourism revenue continues to grow annually, the government has set a strategic target to increase this figure to $6 billion by the end of 2027. Following a successful 2025, which saw 2.2 million tourist arrivals and a revenue of $5.55 billion, the objective for the current year is to reach $5.6 billion. To achieve these milestones, the Ministry of Tourism is actively working to resume stalled tourism projects and diversify the industry by introducing new sectors, including Halal tourism, medical tourism, and eco-tourism.
