The Football Association of Maldives (FAM) has stated that the calendar for the upcoming football season will be finalized after the members for its committees are elected. At the first ExCo meeting held by President Ahmed Thoriq (Tom), who assumed office on Saturday, it was decided to complete the selection of people for the organization’s committees before the third day of next month. This opportunity will be opened to member clubs. The main tournaments expected to be included in FAM’s calendar are the National Football Tournament, the FA Cup, and the Dhivehi Premier League. Additionally, it includes atoll and zone football tournaments, as well as the second and third division football tournaments.
FAM’s operations have been in disarray, and due to administrative and financial issues, important football activities have been suspended for more than a year and a half now.
