Ahmed Karam, President of Aa. Thod’dhoo Council, has expressed gratitude to President Dr. Mohamed Muizz for providing new terminals for those traveling to Male’ by launches and ferries from the atolls. In a statement released today by MTCC, it was stated that in order to provide convenient options for citizens traveling from islands to Male’, they intend to open these two terminal ports for use by parties operating launch ferries between Male’ and the atolls for arrival and departure.
In a post related to this matter, Karam said that during the previous two administrations, discussions were held with many institutions to do this, but it did not materialize. Therefore, Karam has thanked President Muizz for arranging this in the current administration. MTCC intends to open the Male’ Henveiru Terminal and Hulhumale’ Terminal for launches and ferries. MTCC stated that parties interested in using these harbors should submit their interest via the company’s email before 14:00 on the 10th of this month.
As MTCC begins work on opening the Henveiru Terminal and Hulhumale’ Terminal for launch ferries, launches traveling to islands generally dock at the harbor in front of Jumhoori Maidan. When many launches dock at this harbor simultaneously, it causes inconveniences for passengers embarking and disembarking. It should be noted that the change MTCC decided to implement today is a change brought directly under the guidance of President Dr. Mohamed Muizz.”
