President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that there is a strong relationship based on trust between the Maldives and Sri Lanka. In a post on X, extending Independence Day greetings to Sri Lankan Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, the government, and the people, President Dr. Muizzu said that the Maldives and Lanka have a strong relationship based on similar policies and trust.
“I am confident that the relationship formed due to the neighborliness and long-standing friendship between the Maldives and Lanka will grow even stronger than it is now,” the President said. The President has also wished peace, progress, and success for the people of Lanka.
