Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullah Khaleel stated that the international community’s failure to take decisive action against Israel in response to the ongoing genocide in Palestine serves as clear evidence of the inability to uphold international laws. The Minister made these remarks during a round table meeting at the Doha Forum 2025, which was held under the overarching theme of “The Importance of Upholding International Law and the System of Justice.” Dr. Khaleel underscored the imperative of ensuring justice for all nations. He further asserted that now is the opportune moment for countries to unite and work collectively to hold Israel accountable and to protect the fundamental rights of the vulnerable Palestinian people.
The Minister reiterated that the continued failure to find a resolution to the Palestinian issue and the prolonged delay in delivering justice unequivocally demonstrate a profound inability to uphold international law. He affirmed that the Maldives remains committed to upholding diplomatic principles and ensuring integrity in establishing international justice. He emphasized the critical importance of nations consulting and collaborating to ensure that justice is administered equitably for every country. The Doha Forum, currently underway in Qatar, serves as a crucial platform where global leaders convene to discuss and deliberate on pressing international issues.
