Today’s Friday sermon focused on the theme of “Nation Building through Holistic Education.” The sermon highlighted that while the pursuit of knowledge is an arduous journey, it is a noble struggle (Jihad) that facilitates the path to Paradise. It was emphasized that the objective of education should not merely be vocational preparation; rather, it must encompass a comprehensive upbringing that refines an individual’s intellect and moral character.
The sermon called upon teachers to serve as mentors who instill the foundations of faith and morality within the hearts of students. Regardless of the subject being taught, priority should be given to Islamic principles. Furthermore, parents were urged to look beyond providing material necessities and to prioritize their children’s psychological and physical well-being. They were encouraged to be a protective shield for their children, offering support and encouragement through both success and failure.
The sermon also reminded relevant authorities that shaping educational policies and curricula in alignment with divine guidance—while remaining contemporary—is a profound trust that must be upheld for future generations. It concluded by stating that the Ummah today requires the cultivation of a just generation; one that comprises experts in both religious and worldly sciences, characterized by sincerity and a commitment to prioritizing the national interest.
