Government Spokesperson Heena Waleed has stated that the government assures that no rights of any individuals who have been allocated land plots will be compromised.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, Heena said that to allow the criminal investigation being conducted by the police at HDC to proceed independently and swiftly, all members of the company’s board of directors, except for the Chairman, including the Managing Director, have been suspended until the investigation is completed. Furthermore, Heena assured all parties that in relation to this matter, no rights of any individuals who have been allocated land plots have been compromised, nor will they be compromised.

In connection with this, an announcement by PCB stated that to give space for and provide full cooperation to the investigation being conducted by Maldives Police Service regarding HDC, all members of the Board of Directors, except for the Chairman Ahmed Nasif, have been suspended effective immediately until the investigation is completed and PCB decides on a course of action. Additionally, Fazul has also been suspended and instructed not to report to the office until PCB decides on a course of action.
