The government-mandated allowance for children with Thalassemia will be granted to individuals registered with the Maldivian Blood Services (MBS) who submit a formal application. This financial support is specifically designated for those actively undergoing treatment; consequently, individuals who have successfully recovered from the condition will not be eligible for the allowance.

Applications must be submitted through the OneGov portal using eFaas authentication. When applying for children under the age of 18, it is mandatory to complete the required parental or guardian information.

The deadline for submitting applications for this month’s allowance is 12:00 AM tonight. However, starting from the upcoming month, applications can be submitted until the 15th of every month.

This allowance is an initiative introduced by the President to enhance the quality of life for those living with Thalassemia. In addition to this financial assistance, the government is currently working on the development of a specialized hospital dedicated to Thalassemia care.
