Due to the intense attacks by Israel on Iran, many residents living in the country’s capital Tehran have begun to leave the area. Iran is not a country that has established special underground shelters for safety in dangerous situations. So far, more than 200 Iranians have been martyred in Israeli attacks. 90 percent of that number are civilians, including many children and elderly people.
Although Israel is warning Tehran residents to move to safer areas, the Iranian government continues to call on people not to worry. The government has described these warnings as a war tactic. Iran has said that mosques, schools, and train stations will always be open for people to use as temporary shelters. While the public has started bulk-buying food, oil, and medicine, the government says there are sufficient supplies available. Many people are also trying to withdraw money from banks. As a result, banks have lowered the withdrawal limits.
In Israel, which has established many bunkers for protection from attacks, more than 20 people have died so far. In the latest Israeli attacks on Iran, a missile strike was carried out on Iranian state media. After that attack, Iran said it was preparing to launch an unprecedented powerful attack against Israel. Iran continues to launch numerous missile attacks on Israel. In the past 24 hours, an attack was also targeted at the area where the US Consulate is located in Israel, according to US Ambassador to Israel Mike Hackaby.
Since June 13, Iran has launched missile attacks eight times, while Iran has shot down four Israeli F-35 jets and over 100 drones. Israeli authorities have ordered civilians in Haifa to stay in safe shelters as more Iranian attacks on Haifa are expected. Israelis continue to be injured as new missiles reach their targets. US President Donald Trump has also called on Tehran residents to leave the area. In a post shared on social media, Trump said Iran would not be allowed to have a nuclear weapon. Due to the ongoing exchange of attacks between Iran and Israel, Trump has decided to cut short his trip to Canada to attend the G7 meeting and return to the US, as announced by the US.
