Tajikistan team in Male’ for match against Maldives

The Tajikistan team has arrived in Male’ and begun training for their match against the Maldives in the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers. The match between these two teams will be held on Tuesday. These two teams also met in the qualifiers on the 9th of this month. In that match, played at Tajikistan’s Hisor Stadium, Maldives lost 2-1. After arriving for tomorrow’s match, the Tajikistan team trained at the Maafannu Turf Ground. The team arrived in Male’ with 23 players. This includes three goalkeepers, nine defenders, eight midfielders, and three forwards.

As they enter this match, Maldives is at at the bottom of the table in a group of four teams, having lost all three matches played so far without gaining a single point. Tajikistan is in first place with a total of seven points. The other teams in this group are East Timor and the Philippines. The Football Association of Maldives (FAM) has begun efforts to prepare for the Taj Tajikistan match and to increase support for the national team. As part of this, they held a children’s evening event yesterday. All players of the national team participated in this activity.
