Sun Siyam Group has announced its decision to disburse service charges in Maldivian Rufiyaa for its workforce of over 5,000 employees, effective from 2026. According to the company, this adjustment is a necessary measure to ensure business sustainability following new regulations that mandate the conversion of a significant portion of tourism foreign exchange earnings into local banks. While Sun Siyam Group moves toward this transition, Crown & Champa Resorts has recently commenced paying its employees in US Dollars starting this January.
