The vessels of the Global Steadfast Flotilla (GSF), working to break the siege on Gaza, have reached an area near Marsa Matruh, a coastal town in Egypt. As the Zionists continue their aggressive attacks on Gaza to exterminate its people, GSF is striving to deliver food and humanitarian aid to Gaza. Among those traveling to Gaza on GSF vessels are human rights activists from 44 countries, some members of Western parliaments, and celebrities from various nations. This includes the famous Swedish activist Greta Thunberg, who advocates for the rights of Gaza’s people.
The International Committee to Break the Siege on Gaza stated that the flotilla will travel north of Alexandria, Egypt, approaching Gaza. The committee warned that as the GSF nears Gaza, the Zionists are likely to commit a war crime against it. GSF also reported that its two main vessels are currently 678 kilometers away from Gaza and are expected to reach there within the next 3 or 4 days. GSF noted that two additional vessels have joined the flotilla, bringing the total number of vessels to 44. GSF further stated that the flotilla will enter the most dangerous area within the next two days. They emphasized that their determination remains unchanged and that this is the most crucial time for international attention and solidarity.
Previously, the International Committee to Break the Siege on Gaza announced plans to send a ship carrying journalists and healthcare workers to Gaza. The committee said that the vessel, carrying over 100 journalists and doctors from various countries, was prepared to depart on October 1st. Since October 7, 2023, the Zionist attacks on Gaza have resulted in the martyrdom of over 66,000 people. While destroying Gaza’s buildings and infrastructure, the Zionists have also severely restricted the entry of food and aid supplies into Gaza. As a result, Gaza’s population is starving and weakened. The number of people martyred in Gaza due to hunger is increasing daily. In this situation, the number of people worldwide raising their voices for Palestine’s rights is growing day by day.
The Zionists have threatened to stop the flotilla if the aid supplies are not handed over to them for delivery to Gaza. However, GSF continues to state that they will work towards achieving the flotilla’s objective regardless of these threats. Flotilla participants say that GSF is not only providing humanitarian aid but also aims to deliver a sense of hope and solidarity. As the Palestinian people face Zionist aggression, GSF continues to express its desire to show that the world stands with Palestine.
