The Government of Singapore has officially welcomed President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Madam Sajida Mohamed. The official welcome ceremony for the President and First Lady was held today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore, hosted by Singapore’s President Tharman Shanmugaratnam. During this ceremony, Singapore’s military played the national anthems of both countries. Afterwards, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and Singapore’s President inspected the guard of honor presented in their honor.
At this ceremony, after Singapore’s dignitaries greeted and introduced themselves to President Dr. Muizzu, members of the Maldivian delegation were introduced to Singapore’s President. The two Presidents then posed together for a commemorative photograph, after which the President signed the guest book. As the President begins his official visit to Singapore, this year marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Singapore.
