
The Dhivehi Sifainge Club has secured the championship of the Men’s Division of the National Volleyball League 2025, which was organized by the Volleyball Association of Maldives (VAM). Sifainge Club’s league championship was confirmed this afternoon when Huraa Community Club was defeated by Dhandimagu Sports and Recreation Club with a score of 3-1 sets in a match played earlier today. Consequently, in their final match played tonight, Sifainge Club displayed a mediocre performance and was defeated by Club HDC in straight three sets.
Sifainge Club claimed this year’s National League championship with eight points from four matches played. Dhandimagu, finishing second, earned seven points from four matches, while HDC, in third place, obtained six points from four matches. Huraa, finishing fourth, also received six points, while Police Club, at the bottom, managed only three points. As a result, Police Club was eliminated, failing to qualify for the upcoming national tournament. In the match played tonight at the indoor court of the Youth Center, Sifainge was defeated in straight three sets, with HDC taking the sets 25-22, 25-22, and 28-26. The best player of this match was HDC’s foreign player Sebastian Giraldo Gomez.
In an interview given to “PSM News” after the match, Sifainge Club’s coach Junaid Abdullah highlighted the hard work of the team’s players in securing the first two tournaments of this season for Sifainge Club. He specifically praised the cohesive performance of the Sifainge Club players as a single unit.

Furthermore, in the league match played this afternoon, Dhandimagu emerged victorious, with the team winning the first two sets 25-17 and 25-20. However, Huraa managed to win the subsequent set 32-30 after a competitive play. Nevertheless, Dhandimagu improved their performance in the fourth set, taking it 26-24. The best player of this match was Ali Huzam (Huzante) of Dhandimagu.
The best outside attackers in this year’s National League are Huzam of Dhandimagu and Adam Naseem (Adam) of Sifainge Club. The best middle blockers selected are Adam Fairuz of Sifainge Club and Mohamed Ahsan of HDC. Shameel Hussain of HDC was chosen as the best opposite player, while the best setter is Sifainge Club’s captain Hussain Shahid (Shaadu). Ahmed Nabeel of Dhandimagu was selected as the best libero, and Sifainge Club’s coach Junaid won the award for best coach. Additionally, Sifainge Club’s Luiz Filipe Ferreira was selected as the best foreign player, and the best player of the league is Hussain Razaan of Sifainge Club. While Sifainge Club won this year’s National League championship, the final league match and the awards ceremony held tonight were graced by the Speaker of the People’s Majlis, Abdulla Raheem Abdulla.
