
A powerful winter storm currently sweeping across the United States has caused widespread power outages and significant disruptions to air travel. According to weather authorities, many parts of the Eastern United States are experiencing strong winds and a drastic drop in temperatures.
The storm’s impact has left over 200,000 people without electricity. Relevant authorities have reported severe disruptions to aviation, with more than 4,000 flights canceled due to the adverse conditions.
Describing it as a historic storm, President Donald Trump has declared a state of emergency in several states, including South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia, Maryland, Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Indiana, and West Virginia. President Trump assured that the federal government is closely monitoring the situation and will continue to provide necessary assistance to the affected states.
Authorities have received reports of power outages from approximately 217,000 customers in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee.
In terms of air travel, 4,000 flights were canceled yesterday alone, and more than 9,000 flights scheduled for today have already been grounded. Due to the extreme cold, the Department of Homeland Security has urged the public to remain indoors and take all necessary safety precautions.
