In line with the pledge made by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, STELCO has decided to conduct meter readings on the 16th and 17th of this month to prepare separate bills for the purpose of applying electricity discounts for the month of Ramadan. This initiative is part of the government’s commitment to provide financial relief by ensuring that electricity bills for households do not exceed MVR 400 during the holy month. Furthermore, as part of the administration’s efforts to ease the burden on citizens, the government has arranged for the distribution of a case of canned tuna to every household, measures to stabilize food prices, and the declaration of the last ten days of Ramadan as public holidays.
