Opportunities have been opened for experienced consultancy firms to prepare the master plan for N. Atoll Maafaru International Airport. Island Aviation Services (IAS) has opened the opportunity for interested parties to submit Expressions of Interest (EOI) until the 25th of this month. The main information related to this work includes the project name, bid number, and the deadline for submitting EOIs. EOIs must be submitted via email to the designated addresses. The email subject should include the project name and bid number.
IAS has further noted that proposals for this work will only be accepted from those who submit EOIs within the specified period. Maafaru International Airport is an airport that opened on December 1, 2019. Preparing the master plan for this airport is an important step in planning the future of the airport and planning and implementing development projects. Maafaru Airport is a facility built with a grant of 60 million dollars from the Abu Dhabi Fund. The airport has been developed to accommodate the world’s largest aircraft such as Airbus A320 and Boeing 737, with a 2,200-meter long and 40-meter wide runway.
The second phase of the Maafaru Airport project includes expanding the runway to accommodate Boeing 777 aircraft.
