Seeking Content Creators’ Opinions on Soft Loans

The Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Mohamed Saeed, has met with content creators to gather opinions regarding soft loans. The President of the Maldives, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, has decided to launch a special soft loan scheme for content creators in the Maldives. While meeting with content creators to seek opinions from those active in these fields, Minister Mohamed Saeed stated that efforts will be made to implement this program as closely as possible to the ideas received from this meeting. As such, the Minister has met with individuals from media content, audio-video image production, entertainment, as well as sales and marketing sectors.

The Minister Saeed also mentioned that these meetings are an important effort aimed at creating business opportunities for such professions.

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that the loan scheme specially designed for Maldivian content creators will be opened within the next two weeks. Building a creative economy in the Maldives, finding solutions to the challenges faced by those engaged in artistic and innovative work, and further advancing these industries is a special vision of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.

Establishing a creative economy in the Maldives is an important pledge in the manifesto, and the government’s goal is to make the creative industry contribute 15% of the country’s GDP by 2030. The President has expressed confidence that this goal will be achieved. The government is working to designate next year as the National Year of Productivity.
